Stand Up for Health Care Reform!

The North Texas UAW Area Retiree Council met on October 27 at UAW 276 headquarters, 4505 W.E. Roberts, in Grand Prairie. A video was made so that people could see the relaxed and fun atmosphere of this important meeting. All UAW retirees are encouraged to attend. Click here for the video.
The labor history archivist for University of Texas at Arlington, Claire Galloway, addressed the group shortly about how much retirees can contribute to keeping our labor history.
As always of late, health care reform was the number one topic. The group voted unanimously to try to get a charter bus to Austin on Saturday, November 14, for a statewide rally for decent health care reform. The Texas AFL-CIO asked all Texans to attend from 1 PM to 3 PM that day. It is expected that charter buses will be organized.
The UAW retirees also will participate in the national call-in on November 5.
