Retiree activists are registering to ride charter buses to the statewide health care reform rally at the Capitol in Austin 1-3 PM on Saturday, November 14!

As this is written, at least three buses are chartered from North Texas:

1. Free seats available through Tarrant County AFL-CIO. Leaves 8:30 AM Saturday from Operating Engineers Local 178 / TCCLC Hdqtrs in North Richland Hills (Glenview & Rufe Snow) in Ft Worth. Contact them at tcclc@swbell.net

2. Dallas AFL-CIO bus is full, but it doesn't hurt to register for a free seat. It leaves 8 AM from UAW 848 hall, 2218 E Main in Grand Prairie. Contact them at rmunoz@uaw848.org

3. Jobs with Justice/MoveOn bus costs $22/seat, but some free seats will be available. Leaves 8:30 AM from 100 W Jefferson (at Beckley) in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. Contact them to register at labordallas@sbcglobal.net. All info is at www.labordallas.org

The Texas Alliance for Retired Americans is co-sponsoring the rally along with the Texas AFL-CIO and a growing number of progressive organizations. It will last from 1 to 3 PM at the Capitol building.

Health care reform bills are moving close to a final vote. What could be more important to Texas retirees than securing our health care benefits?
