(Texas Alliance for Retired Americans)

Seniors who are union members or retirees are being urged to attend the Texas AFL-CIO Conference on Political Education (COPE) in Austin on February 6-7. It is a great time to get to gether, swap information, and see how we can help each other during this critical political year.

The COPE conference considers candidates and resolutions for endorsements. The senior vote, as always, is absolutely critical. Texas not only has a lot of retirements, but we are the chosen by more out-of-state retirees than any state except Florida!

Political leaders will flock to the conference. This is a chance to meet them one-on-one as well as hear them make their presentations to the many union leaders in attendance. As always, seniors are listened to in the labor movement, so our opinions will carry weight in the process of considering endorsements.

For details on the conference, see the Texas AFL-CIO web site.

Seniors are also being urged to attend the National Alliance for Retired Americans convention in Last Vegas, April 5-8.
